Description

Comes in a gift box with glass holder. Beeswax collected from Calenny Orchard beehives and melted into beautiful chemical free candles. These candles are hand poured and made at Calenny Orchard. They are 6cm wide, 160g in weight and have a 18+ hours burn time. Beeswax candles are like no other. Beeswax is a natural, renewable resource. They burn brighter, longer, cleaner. As the beeswax burns it gives off a non-toxic, hypo-allergenic, subtle fragrance of a mixture of honey and the nectar of the flowers in the honeycomb. Like air purifiers, beeswax candles release negative ions that neutralize the particles from air pollutants, rendering them harmless. Instructions: Trim wick to one half cm before each burn. Light at base of the wick. Burn for at least 4 hours each time to ensure your candle burns evenly across the top and brevets the wax from pooling. Do not burn your pillar candle in any glass or container. Use a regular candleholder so that the candle can stand on its own, but still have something underneath it to catch wax drippings or support it in case it gets bumped. Burn it in a level place away from fans, windows, or other drafts in order to keep it burning evenly. If it is placed in drafty conditions, it can begin to burn unevenly or even start to tunnel. If the wick is too long, it can start to release soot into the air while it burns. Most candle wicks are originally generous in size, but a longer wick doesn’t mean the candle will burn longer. The first time you burn your candle, leave it lit long enough so that a wax pool forms across the majority of the top portion of the candle. This is called a full pool. Let your candle flicker one hour for every inch in diameter, so if your pillar candle has a four-inch diameter, let it burn for four hours when you first light it. This prevents tunnelling. Hug in the edges of the pillar candle at the end of each burn by cupping your hands to fold the wax inwards. This will help avoid candle tunnelling and allow the excess wax on the edges to be burned along with the centre. Tunnelling will cause your candle to not last as long. All candles, pure beeswax or toxic, need to be burned until the pool of wax reaches the outside edge! It’s an immutable law of physics. This is a requirement every(ish) time you light your candle. As beeswax is extremely forgiving, if you blow them out sooner on occasion the candle should be able to play catch up. There is no need with a beeswax candle to put it out once it reaches the outside edge, it should just continue to burn beautifully, without dripping, emitting a light honey aroma and a gorgeous warm ambience.
